I spent yesterday filming with BBC Countryfile and being interviewed about the virtual art trail I have set up at Tentsmuir National Nature Reserve as part of my artist residency there during Year of Natural Scotland 2013. The program will be screened on 2nd June and we are having an official launch on 28th May.

Badgers in the village

The badgers are getting busy at their sett near the house and are occasionally active in the garden…they knocked over and raided the bins I keep the peanuts and birdfood in,  necessitating a sack of gravel on the top of each lid to keep them out. They are clearing out the old bedding and refreshing that with new straw in preparation for the arrival of the cubs about now. I managed to take some footage of them with an infra-red camera. Elected signature member of the Society of Animal Artists.

I was delighted to learn that I had been elected to the elite Society of Animal Artists. The society recognises outstanding artistic and technical skill in the world of wildlife art. I am one of only three Scottish artists ever to be elected to this international society that is based in the USA. My painting is on display at their current annual show in New Jersey and has survived the ravages of hurricane Sandy!
